OntheCommon.com - A place for everything

I thought that I did pretty well, dropping that dead gray birch about 18" from the boathouse....

About all this

This is a series of occasional notes about life at Queen Lake.

My father, Huck, bought our camp property in 1936 and built the current camp after World War II. My first recollections of the camp have me sitting in a bucket of water on the floor of the sauna; I was probably two or three.

Huck passed away in January 2007. In the words of the old hymn, we shall meet, but we shall miss him.

My wife, Sandra and I, share the camp with our sons, Mike and Adam, and their families. We're on to the fourth generation and excitement builds.
